This year marks a major milestone for National Pile Croppers (NPC) — ten years of delivering market-leading hydraulic pile-cropping solutions to projects across the UK and beyond.
Founded in 2015 in Burton-on-Trent, NPC was created to address a clear gap in the foundation sector: a need for safer, more efficient cropping solutions that respond directly to on-site requirements. Over the past decade, we’ve grown from a single innovation into a comprehensive range of UK‑manufactured croppers, designed, built and supported entirely in-house.
Experience You Can Trust
Our management team brings over a century of combined experience in the piling industry. This depth of knowledge has shaped our approach to equipment design, ensuring every cropper delivers:
- Clean, horizontal finishes
- Protection for reinforcement
- Reduced cracking below the cut-off level
Safety and precision are at the heart of everything we do.
Innovation at Work
The commitment to continuous improvement remains as strong today as when we began. Our latest IP‑protected four‑jaw Tetra Cropper is currently undergoing live trials in the Netherlands — a prime example of how we’re pushing boundaries in pile‑cropping technology.
Every NPC cropper is designed, manufactured and maintained by our team, with 24/7 customer support and a dedicated specialist assigned to every hire. This hands‑on service helps contractors keep projects running smoothly and efficiently.
A Growing Global Presence
From our two UK depots in Burton-on-Trent and Stevenage, we supply equipment to projects nationwide, working with leading names such as Skanska, Sir Robert McAlpine, Kier and Churngold. Our reach extends internationally, with NPC croppers deployed on projects including:
- Reconstruction works in Ukraine and Iraq
- The Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin
- Major redevelopment in Athens
We’ve built regional dealer networks in the US, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands, and established NPC Australia to support the growing demand in the Southern Hemisphere.

Celebrating Our People
Our steady growth has allowed us to promote long‑serving team members into senior roles, strengthening the culture of expertise and commitment that drives us. We’re proud to hold accreditations from CPA, Constructionline, Achilles and FORS, underscoring our dedication to quality, safety and professionalism.
Managing Director Simon Price sums it up best:
“We’d like to thank every contractor who has put their confidence in us, and the people who make NPC what it is. The next ten years will bring new markets, new designs and continued work with our customers to improve pile‑cropping safety and productivity.”
Here’s to another decade of innovation, trust and delivering the very best in pile‑cropping solutions — wherever in the world your project takes us.
