The UK’s new Agratas EV Giga Battery Factory required the cropping of 16,000 concrete piles of varying types under an accelerated schedule for a vast 244,710m² development.

The Challenge
The Agratas gigafactory, part of Tata Group’s global battery strategy, will produce 40GWh annually — supplying up to 500,000 vehicles and an estimated 40% of the UK’s domestic demand by 2026. Construction timelines demanded rapid, efficient foundation works, with thousands of piles in varied dimensions requiring cropping in sequence with groundworks .

Supplied multiple Power Croppers, Multi Bar Croppers, and a PC400, operated across different zones by Synergy Plant and Toureen Plant . - Innovative Development:
Trialled a bespoke nibbling tool to pre-reduce piles in tight gaps before cropping, improving manoeuvrability and speed . - Operational Support:
Delivered 24/7 technical backup to maintain productivity on the high-pressure site .
